Pokemon Trading Card Game Expansion Astral Radiance Announced
The Pokémon Company International has announced the new Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion Sword & Shield—Astral Radiance. This will be available from May 27, 2022.
Sword & Shield—Astral Radiance is inspired by the video game Pokémon Legends: Arceus and features a variety of Hisuian Pokémon and cards with artwork from the Hisui region. The expansion also introduces the new game mechanic Radiant Pokémon. Shiny Pokémon are depicted in etched artwork. Radiant Pokémon usually have a powerful Ability or attack that can impact the Pokémon TCG metagame. Players can only include one Radiant Pokémon in their deck.
In addition, Sword & Shield—Astral Radiance adheres heavily to Pokémon VSTAR and includes a special 30-card Trainer Gallery subset with artwork of popular Trainers and Pokémon.
The expansion contains the following notable cards:
- 3 Radiant Pokémon
- 8 Pokémon VSTAR
- 21 Pokémon V and 2 Pokémon VMAX
- More than 20 Trainer cards
Sword & Shield—Astral Radiance will be available in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes and special collections.
