New Pokémon Plane from Japanese Carrier SKYMARK

Skymark Airlines will put a second Pokémon-themed plane into service at the end of this month. Since June 2021, the Japanese price fighter has been flying a Boeing 737-800 in the livery of the fictional creatures, which are popular in the Far East.

Skymark's latest plane with Pokémon - short for Pocket Monsters - on the outside is also a Boeing 737-800 and is called the Pikachu Jet BC2. Pikachu is the best known of several hundred 'monsters'. The aircraft will be deployed on domestic flights from May 30, starting between Haneda (Tokyo) and Naha (Okinawa) and from Naha to Fukuoka.

Many Japanese passengers - women and men, young and old - specially book a flight with a Pokémon aircraft to immerse themselves in the animation atmosphere. On board Skymark Boeings, images of the creatures can be seen on, among other things, the clothing of the cabin crew, headrests, luggage tags and boarding passes.

Skymark has partnered with the Pokémon company and acquired the rights to use the images in 2021.
